Welcome Students!
The writing center in 016 Memorial offers free writing tutorials to all in the University of Delaware community. Our experienced consultants—faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students—can meet with you at any stage in the writing process, whether it be brainstorming, developing an organizational plan, looking at transitions, or polishing a final draft. In some cases, the consultants act as a "practice audience" for your writing as they read your paper with you and ask questions or make comments that can help you improve your writing.
You can make an appointment—which starts on the hour and lasts approximately fifty minutes—online. If you have questions, please call 831-1168. Or, you can stop by the writing center to see if a consultant is free.
We also offer university-wide workshops on such topics as using MLA and APA citations, taking essay exams, and developing self-editing techniques. To learn more, email us.
Finally, we have handouts covering various writing topics, including MLA and APA citation styles. You can download them from the website, or you can stop by the 016 Memorial to pick up a hardcopy.
