Workshops for Faculty

Workshops in Classes

Writing center faculty will work with you to develop and teach workshops in your classes covering various aspects of writing.

Newsletters

The writing center newsletters provide faculty with background information about writing issues as well as helpful ideas about a specific writing issue.

Suggestions for Writing Activities

Eleven writing-to-learn, easy-to-grade activities students can complete on 5x8 notecards. These should take no more than five minutes of class time, or they can be assigned as brief homework assignments. We have also included a list of useful sources and websites.

Self-editing exercise - students can use the self-editing sheet when reviewing their own work or fellow classmates' papers. The activity is most effective when used prior to the assignment deadline.

The writing center has downloadable handouts explaining APA and MLA documentation. You can also get hardcopies in 016 Memorial.

We offer one-on-one tutoring in the writing center, 016 Memorial Hall.
